Your Teacher Will Lead You To Realization

They are the one, and in this life, or another life, they are the one who will take you to realization. There is one person who takes you along the final stages, and no one can take their place. If that teacher is not in the body, then they will come to you in the subtle physical and help you."

I have been pondering for sometime how to analyze, and evaluate my own spiritual pathway, and progress. I understand that at a higher level this is clearly a waste of time and energy.

But, being of western birth, and still working on various layers of human conditioning, I consider my spiritual journey, and attempt to figure it out. Knowing that from the point of view of meditation and the superconscious this is a futile activity, still, I ponder my journey.

An aspect of my pathway that seems to be of interest to me from time to time is the teacher-student relationship. I have noticed that some students who studied with Rama have chosen to seek other teachers. Some did this many years before his death, and some sought others teachers after his death.

Each student has been taught to follow her or his dharma, and I would expect the pathways to light to provide infinite routes. Still, I look at my choices, and contemplate those choices, sometimes using the choices of fellow students as a point of reference. When I waste my time in such a manner I wonder why I have chosen to work with Rama exclusively.

Oh, I have met many people who I recognize as extraordinary teachers. I have read thousands of books whose authors have taught me remarkable lessons. I have attended countless classes of higher education and enjoyed those opportunities for learning. I have loved and embraced the teachings of Ram Dass. I am enjoying learning from Rama's students who are teaching, or not.

Today, as I ponder all of this, I have come to this realization. Life offers all of us infinite opportunities to learn. Perhaps, if the time and temperature is correct, we meet our old friend, an enlightened being. We find our teacher, and that teacher is the one teacher who works with us in the inner dimensions, in the final stages.

That teacher for me is Rama. Like it or not. Understand it or not. That is how it is. Today I hear Rama's words, and my analysis ends. Today, I hear Rama say: "There is one person who takes you along the final stages, and no one can take their place. If that teacher is not in the body, then they will come to you in the subtle physical and help you."
