Infinite Moments "Some people have a peculiar power. The power to elevate themselves above the deadness of the human condition. Our energy just gets so high that it literally lifts us above personality. And for a timeless time, we merge with life. We merge with something that there are not words for." -Rama That peculiar power to transcend the ordinary and embrace the highest levels of awareness exists. Rama could only say that "some individuals have a peculiar power. I don't know why. Maybe it's from past lives, maybe it's not." When I sat with Rama I experienced those extraordinary moments. They exist. They are available whenever we make the effort to push against the veil of Maya with enough energy and intent. We can reach perfect moments in dance, in music, in art, in athletics, at work, or in meditation. We push ourselves, in search of the extraordinary. We have been taught that we can use any activity to "catapult ourselves into infinity." Are we just energy junkies in search of high moments? How are we any different than the rest of the western world? Look around. The world provides an almost infinite variety of ways to get high. TV, movies, music, travel, drugs and alcohol, games and sports, theme parks. The list is pretty long. In Tantric Buddhism we use any and all of the garden-variety activities of life to push us beyond our limits. We do this with will power and intent. We live in search of the perfect moments. In those infinite moments, "the world becomes light. The mind is light, and there's only infinity." Lynne of the San Diego DharmaCenter
