The Moment "in" Truth

"A Buddhist monk has a responsibility first and foremost to themselves. And that's to find the truth each day in every part of their life. In the morning we get up, take a shower and we meditate. We silence the mind and we enter in a flow of perfect light."

-Rama

I believe this statement applies to any student who is seriously seeking enlightened awareness. Some of Rama's students describe themselves as Buddhist monks, some do not. It doesn't matter.

It is the practice that matters. How many times, and how many different ways have I heard it. "Meditate each morning!" If there is a requirement in the practice, a prerequisite for each day, it is the morning meditation.

The consistent practitioner might notice that there is more and more space between thought, and may begin to be vaguely aware of the silence. In those spaces of silent mind, the student is not unconscious. The student is superconscious. However, the trick is that when you enter these states, you can't bring back a description for yourself, or anyone else.

What? I can't share my silence with inquiring minds?

Since it is a wordless experience, and is not born or processed by the senses, it is not possible to describe with words. However, it is real, and the only way into enlightened awareness.

Each moment gives you and I the opportunity to practice concentration and mindfulness, and to move into the truth of that moment.

If we have taken the time to sit in the light, in the Buddha mind, our moment to moment truth will be more refined.

From Rama's Teachings

Rama presented thousands of techniques that were intended to help students along their own pathway to enlightenment. Techniques presented here may be useful for you. The teachings are meant to be used by students who are serious about their practice, and their own enlightenment.

A special thanks to
