Love - Falling in Love with Light

-- from Rama's tapes

"Do you need a teacher? I don't know, it depends on how you feel. I think the most important thing is to have heart, to have a sense of love and well being. . . .The thing that you need to do is to love. To love, to love, to love. To love without strings."

-Rama

I was reading through some of the threads of the RamaLila message board and was surprised to see that someone had asked about the place of love in the practice. The writer had found very little related to the topic of love on the board.

I looked at the "tapes teach" series and was again surprised that the topic of "love" was not a lead-in to any of the articles in the year 2000.

It is beyond my imagination, (which has a wide field of play), to conceive of this practice without "love". Love flows through all aspects of the practice.

The warrior spirit does not exclude love. The search for power and energy does not exclude love. Loss of ego, meditation, nor refined awareness exclude love.

Love is the only energy that infiltrates all aspects of being, and comprises the highest and noblest levels of awareness.

Love is what draws and binds you to your enlightened teacher. You do fall in love with your teacher. Your teacher is a manifestation of the clear light of eternity. You fall in love with the light. Again and again.

The practice that we refer to as self-discovery is multifaceted. We learn to refine a variety of techniques as we move along our personal pathway. The Beatles sang to us, "All you need is love, love is all you need."

Moving into enlightenment is not as simple as their song. We know that. However, without the fiber of love coursing through our energy and giving life to our essence, our practice will be just a practice.

When love is the force that moves through the veins of our awareness, our pathway is enlightened.

Rama presented thousands of techniques that were intended to help students along their own pathway to enlightenment. Techniques presented here may be useful for you. The teachings are meant to be used by students who are serious about their practice, and their own enlightenment.

A special thanks to
Lynne (Samadhi) for her writing, and the inspiration to begin this feature.
